Tau Sigma National Honor Society

The Tau Sigma National Honor Society is a national membership organization recognizing the academic achievements of transfer students. Over 100 universities have started Tau Sigma chapters in their efforts to improve the services they provide to their transfer student population. Visit the national website for more information: www.tausigmanhs.org

Established in the spring of 2010, Colorado State’s chapter of Tau Sigma is the first chapter in the entire state of Colorado, a distinction worn with pride.

To be eligible for membership students must have transferred to CSU after taking a full year’s worth of credits at a different institution, and have obtained a minimum 3.5 GPA (or be in the top 20% of incoming transfer students) after their first semester here. A letter and email will be sent to each eligible candidate early in the spring semester. The new candidate class is inducted once per year during a formal induction ceremony in April.

Benefits of membership include formal recognition as a high- achieving transfer student, leadership opportunities, up to $3,500 in scholarship money, and the ability to purchase honor cords for graduation.
