First-Year and Transfer Students

Thursday, January 12th

Spring Ram Welcome Interest Sessions
Attend the following optional interest sessions that will provide you with unique information about transitioning to CSU.

  • Do Something at CSU!
    3:00-3:45 pm

    Step into the world of Involvement. Want to join a student organization? Interested in giving back to the community through service? Want to build your leadership capabilities? The opportunities that exist for students at CSU are abundant and sometimes it is hard to choose what to do, where to begin, or what to not do. This session will provide ways to find involvement opportunities and practical methods for choosing what are the best options to meet your personal, academic, and career goals so you can make the most of your time here at CSU.
  • The CSU Student Experience
    4:00-4:45 pm
    Lory Student Center LSC Room 308-310
    Sit in on a panel of current CSU students to learn more about their experiences at CSU. This is your opportunity to learn more about resources available to you as well as what it means to be a CSU Ram!

New Student and Family Reception
5:00-6:00 pm
Lory Student Center Ballrooms C & D
Join other CSU students, staff and University administrators for a resource fair and mixer opportunity. Connect with current students and administrators and learn more about the resources available to you at CSU! Light appetizers and refreshments are provided, and parent and family members are invited to attend.

New Student Bowling Night

6:30-8:30 pm
Chipper’s Lanes (Busses will leave immediately following the New Student and Family Reception at 6:00pm)
Join other new CSU students and your Ram Welcome Leaders for a few hours of bowling! Connect with other new students, free pizza and soft drinks included while supplies last!

Friday, January 13th

Rock Climbing @ the Rec
11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
Student Recreation Center

Come experience the Student Recreation Center climbing wall for a few hours. All students are welcome, no prior experience necessary!

Class Quest
2:00-3:00 p.m.
Meet at the Lory Student Center Information Desk

Bring your class schedule and go on a guided quest to find your class buildings. You’ll be one step ahead for the first day of classes.

RLP Movie Night: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
5:30 p.m. Lory Student Center Theatre
Join the Residence Hall Association (RHA), the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), and other new student and watch Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in the Lory Student Center Theatre.

Saturday, January 14th

New Student Skating @ Rollerland
Meet at 3:30 p.m. at entrance to Student Rec Center. Event goes from 4:00 – 6:00 pm
Rollerland Skate Center
Come check out Fort Collins’ own indoor skating center at Rollerland Skate Center! Spend the evening connecting with other new students. Meet Ram Welcome Leaders in front of the Student Recreation Center at 3:30 pm. Transportation will be provided.

Monday, January 16th

CSU Women’s Basketball vs. San Diego State
Meet up at 6:00 p.m. at entrance to Student Rec Center. Game begins at 6:30 p.m.
Moby Arena

Meet in front of the Student Recreation Center to head over to Moby Arena to cheer on your CSU Rams Women’s Basketball team as they take on San Diego State.

New Student Trivia Night

Orientation & Transition Programs and Campus Activities are excited to welcome new students for a Trivia Night and social gathering at the Ramskeller in the Lory Student Center (LSC).  Have fun and create community with your fellow Rams by joining us for trivia (with Geeks Who Drink), music, food and more. Don’t miss out on FREE food, prizes, and a great time at our spring semester welcome back event!

Transfer Student Kickoff

Join the Transfer Transition Leaders for free food at the annual Transfer Student Kickoff! This is a great way to have some fun, eat good food, and meet other new transfer students. Learn more about upcoming Transfer Programs events and chat with your TTLs while kicking off the start of your semester right!

College of Agricultural Sciences

Tuesday, January 17 and Wednesday, January 18 from 11am – 1pm

All new College of Agricultural Science students are invited to stop by the Student Success Suite (room 150 – Nutrien Ag Sciences building) to meet the Student Success Team, learn about advising, student organizations, and other helpful resources.  Swag and snacks will also be available to students who stop by.

The College of Business will be working with new students to schedule advising appointments to discuss courses and welcome you to CSU! We will also be contacting you as the semester begins on how to get your welcome shirt and gift to start of the semester! Please make sure to be checking your email so you do not miss out on your advising appointment or welcoming events.

Exploratory Studies (Exploring/Undeclared major)

Academic Support Coordinators will be individually reaching out to spring start students to schedule appointments to discuss support and resources.  For more information, contact Student Achievement at (970) 491-7095.

College of Health and Human Sciences

The College of Health and Human Sciences will be working with new students to schedule advising appointments to discuss courses and welcome you to CSU! Students will receive an invitation to individual Ram Welcome sessions with advisors and faculty. Please contact your academic advisor if you have questions and be sure to check your email so you do not miss out on your advising appointments or welcoming events.

College of Liberal Arts

Incoming CLA students are invited to meet with their Academic Success Coordinators by calling the Academic Support Center at 970-491-3117 to set up an appointment. Students may also visit the Academic Success Center main office in Clark C-207, M-F 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM to learn more about ASCs and/or to schedule a time to meet with their advisor.

New students are also invited to stop by the Dean’s Office in Clark C-138 to pick up a free CLA T-Shirt. The office is open Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

New students are invited to drop by anytime during this time at the Engineering Success Center (Scott Bioengineering Building) for an Open House to talk with Engineering student leaders, gain access to general advising information, learn about the resources accessible to them through the college, and pick up a snack and some swag.
