Transfer Programs @ CSU

As a transfer student, CSU knows that you have unique experiences and an enhanced understanding of college life. Additionally, transfer students come from a variety of institutions and already may understand what it means to be a college student. Thus, beyond Ram Orientation for Transfer Students and Transfer Ram Welcome, we have created a variety of programs and services to help you understand what it means to be a student at CSU.

After Ram Orientation for Transfer Students and Transfer Ram Welcome, the following opportunities exist for transfer students:

National Transfer Student Week
National Transfer Student Week (NTSW) was started by the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS) as a celebration of transfer students and the professionals who support them. Transfer students here at Colorado State University make up 30% of our total student population. That is why this fall, we are celebrating NTSW from Oct. 17-21. This celebration of transfer students is meant for the entire campus community.

Transfer Events and Outreach
Every new transfer student is assigned a Transfer Transition Leader (TTL) at orientation and stays connected with them through events and emails during their first semester on campus. The emails include information about events happening on campus and offers support to new transfer students as they transition into CSU. TTLs also develop programs for new transfer students to build community with one another and to assist with getting new students connected to the CSU and Fort Collins community. A calendar of events is posted and updated weekly on the Transfer Programs @ CSU website; click on the link above to access the calendar.

Transfer Residential Communities
Orientation and Transition Programs, in collaboration with University Housing, is pleased to offer an exciting living opportunity exclusively for transfer students in Summit and Laurel Village – Alpine Halls. The transfer communities focus on easing your transition to CSU by enhancing connections with other students and the campus. They have all the convenience of living on campus plus the benefit of living with others who can relate to the transfer student experience.

Tau Sigma National Honor Society
The Tau Sigma National Honor Society is an national academic honor society designed specifically to recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students. CSU proudly hosts its very own chapter of Tau Sigma. We invite eligible transfer students to become members in the spring semester and hold an induction ceremony in their honor.
