Year 2 @ CSU supports second-year students and provides opportunities for students to enhance and maintain their connection to CSU!

August

Year 2 Welcome Back
Tues. August 23 | 10 AM – 2 PM

Join Year 2 @ CSU to kick off your second year on the right foot! Meet your Year 2 @ CSU Programming Board Members and get to know other second year students. By coming to this you’ll receive a complimentary welcome back bag with a reusable bamboo utensil set and other free CSU swag. We’ll also be doing raffles for RamCash prizes, meal swipes, and CSU Bookstore Swag!

Year 2 Paints the A

Painting the A is one of CSUs oldest traditions! Join Year 2 @ CSU and the CSU Alumni Association in a short hike up to the A to leave your mark on a CSU tradition and make the A look its finest for the beginning of a new school year. All volunteers will receive a free “I painted the A” t-shirt!

Year 2sday- DoSomething at the Involvement Expo

As part of Year 2 @ CSU, we want to celebrate second year students while also helping you get involved on campus! Come find our table at the Involvement Expo to learn more about how to get connected with other offices on campus who can help you in your second year! We’ll have plenty of free swag for you to take home with you too!

Year 2 14er Service Trip
Fri. September 9 – Sunday, September 11
We will be volunteering with the Colorado 14ers Initiative to help restore one of the most heavily used trails in Colorado. Grays and Torreys Peaks are two of the closest and easiest 14ers to Denver, and with that convenience often comes degradation. Sponsored by the Outdoor Program, this Year 2 @ CSU Outdoor Experience is designed to provide us with an opportunity to give back, while enjoying one of the beautiful regions in the state. Year 2 @ the Fort Collins Food Truck Rally
Tues. September 13 | 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
City Park, Fort Collins
Looking to get involved in the Fort Collins community? Then join your Year 2 Board and other second year students as part of the Fort Collins Food Truck Rally. This event takes place in one of our local parks and has free music for all to listen to. Make sure to check out the awesome food trucks in the area too!

October

Year 2 Learn to Climb at the Rec Center Rock Wall 
Wed. October 5 & Wed. October 12| 4 PM – 6 PM
Rec Center Rock Wall
Always wanted to try out the Rec Center Rock Wall, but don’t have much experience with climbing? No worries! Join us at the Rock Wall to get a guided introduction to the Rock Wall, learn the ropes, and meet other second year students! This program provides free instruction, equipment rental, and climbing time during the event.

Year 2 Mountain Experience
Sat. October 8- Sun. October 9
CSU Mountain Campus
Experience the outdoors at Colorado State University’s Mountain Campus! On this trip second year students will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful Rocky Mountains with a full day hiking, ropes courses, and community building. This trip is a great chance to both experience CSU’s Mountain Campus and meet other second-year students.  Students will stay in cabins for the weekend so no tents required. The Mountain Campus is located 50 miles west of campus at the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park and the Comanche Peak Wilderness. Most students never make it up to the Mountain Campus during their years at CSU. This trip offers a great value for an amazing trip.

Year 2sday- Pizza Party with TILT Academic Success

To continue our Year 2sday tradition, join us in a pizza party while learning more about what TILT has to offer. During this time, we will be celebrating Homecoming Week, teaching you more about academic support services, and giving you all items to use during the CSU Homecoming game!

Year 2 Intro to Rock Climbing

This trip is designed to introduce students to the sport of rock climbing by experiencing one of the best local climbing areas, Duncan’s Ridge. Participants do not need any prior climbing experience to register for this trip. Spend the day learning a new sport, experiencing the great outdoors, and engaging with other second-year students. 

November

Year 2sday- Mental Health & Wellbeing
Tues. November 1 | 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM
LSC Sutherland Gardens
Is the stress of finals and exams getting you down? Then come join the CSU Health Network during our final Year 2sday of the semester. We will have some tables out in the Sutherland Garden with opportunities to help you destress. Who knows, we might even have some cool prizes to give away
